In May 2025, Airtel Africa announced a strategic partnership with SpaceX to integrate Starlink's high-speed Internet services into its offerings across 14 African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This collaboration aims to improve Internet access, particularly in rural and underserved areas, by combining Airtel's onshore infrastructure with Starlink's satellite technology. 

💰 Airtel Money IPO planned for 2026

Airtel Africa plans to list its mobile money subsidiary, Airtel Money, on the stock exchange in the first half of 2026. The move aims to strengthen the visibility and autonomy of Airtel Money, which provides essential financial services via mobile platforms across Africa. The IPO is expected to unlock more shareholder value and potentially attract new investment. 

📊 Stock market performance: new peak reached

On May 21, 2025, shares of Airtel Africa PLC rose 1.00% to 1.83£, setting a new 52-week high. This performance outperformed the overall market, with a trading volume of 1.8 million shares, well below the 50-day average of 4.6 million shares.
